On Monday 11th April 2022, Meta announced that they will begin testing user monetisation tools within Horizon Worlds. A selection of creators are being given the opportunity to create digital products that can be sold within the virtual platform.
Meta describe the metaverse as 'the next evolution of social connection''. 3D spaces within virtual worlds create a whole new way of socialising.
Mark Zuckerberg discussed how in-world puchases are a 'new part of the commerce equation'. He also stated that the Horizon Worlds Creator Bonus program will be funding certain creators to build worlds within Horizon Worlds.
